The Google Maps API has several options, including the Geocoding API, Maps Javascript API, and Places API. If you are creating your own locator, you can use the Distance Matrix API instead of the Geocoding API. However, if you want to customize the results of your geocoding request, you will need to use the Places API. Regardless, these options will allow you to get accurate results for your geocoding requests.

The Geocoding API can be used to geocode any global address or set of coordinates, including country and time zone. Its cloud infrastructure can process billions of requests per day and provides response times of tens to hundred milliseconds. The API uses reliable data vendors that maintain accurate geocodes. You can get a Premium subscription for USD $9.99 per month, and integration takes less than five minutes.

Once you've got your API key, you can begin geocoding your data. A geocoding operation returns several candidates, which are ranked by their quality of match. The first candidate should be the best fit, unless you have a better option. You can also specify additional fields to obtain additional information on each candidate. There are lists of these fields in the ArcGIS services reference. Custom locators will also contain these output fields.

Before implementing the Geocoding API, you need to create a billing account and enable it in your application. Having a billing account and Geocoding API enabled is also a prerequisite. You can also use geocoding API if you have a GIS license. To get started, read our guide to implementing geocoding API on Google maps. It's easy to implement! You can even use the API to create and edit addresses and geocodes.
